3 sentenced to 6-7 months in prison and rehabilitation centre respectively for participating in Mong Kok illegal assembly

23rd July 2021 – (Hong Kong) Two men and two women were accused of participating in an illegal assembly in Mong Kok on 7th September 2019. They denied the charges of participating in illegal assembly and obstructing a public officer lawfully engaged in a public duty. One of the women was found not guilty and the other 2 men and 1 woman were convicted of illegal assembly and and obstructing a public officer lawfully engaged in a public duty. The three were sentenced at Kowloon City Magistrates’ Courts today (23rd).

Two male students aged 23 and 28 were sentenced to 6 to 7 months in prison, and the 19-year-old female student was sentenced to a rehabilitation centre.
