27th July 2021 – (Hong Kong) The Wan Chai Police District Special Duty Squad, the Hong Kong Island Regional Tactical Unit and the Immigration Department carried out a joint operation codenamed “Champion” at about 8am yesterday (26th) and searched multiple locations in Wan Chai.
During the operation, a Thai (48-year-old) woman was suspected of “violating conditions of stay”, 3 Vietnamese (22-26) women and a 31-year-old mainland woman were suspected of entering the country illegally to be employed. Another 33-year-old mainland woman was suspected of “violating the conditions of stay” and “overstaying”. All the arrested persons are now being detained for investigation.
