25th July 2021 – (Hong Kong) Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal Special Announcement was issued by the Hong Kong Observatory 12.05am today.

The Rainstorm Warning Signal is now Amber. This means that heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 30 millimetres in an hour, and is likely to continue.

There will be flooding in some low-lying and poorly drained areas.

Tropical Cyclone In-fa will move in the general direction of the coast of eastern China today and tomorrow. Under the influence of its outer subsiding air, the weather over Guangdong will still be very hot in the next couple of days, but showers and thunderstorms triggered by high temperatures will affect the region. Tropical Cyclone Cempaka will move in the general direction of Hainan Island today. There will still be uncertainties in its subsequent track and intensity. A southwesterly airstream is expected to bring showers to the coast of southern China in the middle and latter parts of this week.

At 11pm last night, Typhoon In-fa was centred about 410 kilometres southeast of Shanghai. It is forecast to move north-northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the coast of eastern China. Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Cempaka was centred about 330 kilometres west of Sanya. It is forecast to move south slowly at first, and then turn eastwards in the general direction of Hainan Island.
