a violent robbery unfolded at the Gold Way Industrial Centre on Wing Kin Road in Kwai Chung, where four Mainland Chinese individuals were allegedly assaulted by a group of fourteen assailants armed with knives and wooden sticks. The victims were reportedly threatened and demanded to transfer HK$500,000 via WeChat, but they resisted, ultimately losing only a single iPhone valued at approximately HK$9,000.
The incident was reported to the police around 2.33am by friends of the victims, who also witnessed the attack. Upon arrival, officers detained two suspects, aged 26 and 24, for their involvement in the robbery. Authorities are currently in pursuit of the remaining twelve individuals believed to be part of the assault.
Police received a report from a friend of the victims, stating that Mr. Wu (34 years old), Mr. Xu (31 years old), Mr. Li (40 years old), and Ms. Jiang (21 years old) – all mainland Chinese individuals – were suspected to have been attacked by 14 individuals with knives and wooden sticks at the mentioned location. They were then demanded to transfer HK$500,000 via WeChat.
In the aftermath, while the victims experienced various injuries—ranging from chest discomfort and eye pain to headaches—they declined medical treatment at the scene. The case has since been handed over to the Second Major Crime Unit of the Kwai Tsing Police District for further investigation.
The police are actively seeking a female suspect and eleven men, aged between 30 and 40, who remain at large. This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding safety and security within Hong Kong, particularly in locations frequented by individuals from the Mainland.
