23rd July 2021 – (Hong Kong) Jimmy Lai who is serving his sentence in Stanley Prison, ignored the police’s opposition on 4th June, 2020 and appeared at the 31st anniversary of the June 4th Incident in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay. Jimmy Lai and 25 other people (2 of whom have absconded Hong Kong) are accused of participating in or inciting others to participate in an unauthorised assembly. Among them, 12 defendants appeared in the district court today (23rd) for court mention. Both Jimmy Lai and Leung Yiu-chung planned not to plead guilty, while 10 other defendants including Albert Ho, Leung Kwok-hung etc had pleaded not guilty earlier.
