19th November 2024 – (Hong Kong) This festive season, from 18th November, 2024, to 1st January, 2025, Ngong Ping 360 is set to transform into a nostalgic wonderland with the launch of the “Red A Christmas Dream Factory.” This unique event marks the first collaboration between Ngong Ping 360 and the iconic Hong Kong brand “Red A”, bringing a magical Ferris wheel and a classic Christmas train to the heart of Lantau Island.
The large-scale installation at Stupa Square in Ngong Ping Village is a major highlight, showcasing a vibrant Christmas setup integrated with various Red A products. The installation features a dazzling 5-meter tall Ferris wheel and a giant Christmas tree, crafted from recycled items collected through a recent initiative. These items have been artistically repurposed by local artists, including Jessica Chiu from the Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong, to add a festive and creative flair to the holiday season.
Visitors can also ride the Red A vintage train, offering a unique vantage point of the village adorned in festive decor. Additionally, a photo opportunity with Santa Claus, donning a lampshade hat, ensures that guests can capture memorable moments during their visit.
For those looking to test their skills, the Red A Christmas booth games provide a fun-filled experience with four different game stations. These games, available on select dates throughout the holiday period, offer participants a chance to win delightful prizes by achieving designated scores. Games include nostalgic challenges like dart throwing and curling, with a twist of local slang that adds an educational and humorous element to the activities.
Moreover, the “Red A Hong Kong Prestigious Collection” exhibition is another attraction not to be missed. Located at Shop 12 in Ngong Ping Village, the exhibition runs concurrently with the Christmas festivities and features over 200 iconic and discontinued products from Red A’s 75-year history. This retrospective provides insights into the brand’s evolution and its impact on Hong Kong culture, further enhancing the nostalgic journey for visitors.
The limited-time Hong Kong nostalgia-themed cable cars offer guests a travel back in time, featuring interiors decorated to resemble Hong Kong’s classic cafés and herbal tea shops from the 1960s and 70s. This immersive experience allows visitors to engage with the city’s past while enjoying the scenic views from the cable cars.
As an added incentive, Ngong Ping 360 is offering a special discount on cable car tickets for Hong Kong residents throughout November. By presenting a Hong Kong ID at the ticket counters at Tung Chung or Ngong Ping Cable Car stations, residents can enjoy a 20% discount on standard cabin round-trip tickets.
