28th July 2021 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong team made another great record in the Tokyo Olympics today. Hong Kong swimmer Siobhan Bernadette Haughey finished second in her 200m Freestyle semi-final and won silver medal in the final round held at 9.41am (Hong Kong time) today.
Haughey’s mother worked as a risk management manager in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) for many years. Before the game, the HKMA sent an internal email to the staff in the morning, asking everyone to go to the 56th floor to watch the live broadcast of the game. Even the Chief Executive of the HKMA, Eddie Yue was also on the scene to watch the live broadcast. Many of the staff cheered for Haughey and were extremely proud of her performance.
