Two branches of GUOCUI PUTONGHUA EDUCATION CENTRE in Mid-Levels splashed with red paint

23rd July 2021 – (Hong Kong) At 11pm yesterday (22nd), the glass door of GUOCUI PUTONGHUA EDUCATION CENTRE, Shop A, Avon Court, 21 Caine Road, Mid-Levels was splashed with red oil. A passer-by called the police for help.

Moments later, a police officer arrived at the scene, and after investigation, the police officer posted a note outside the door stating that the case has been handed over to the police and left. The Putonghua Education Centre involved has 8 branch schools in various districts in Hong Kong. The branch school at No. 3 Bonham Road, which is about 1 km away from Caine Road branch school, had its glass doors covered with red paint at 9.31pm during the same evening. There were joss papers and a note with personal information left on the scene. The staff then returned to the scene to assist in the investigation while removing the oil stains.

The police classified the two cases as “criminal damage” and referred them to the Central Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up. No one has been arrested for the time being.
